Alitalia - Abu Dhabi to Milan Malpensa

The second flight of our journey to Uzbekistan was interesting. We ended up on an Alitalia A330 that was only about 25% capacity, most seats empty. So we each had a row of seats to ourselves as did most others on the flight. And being Alitalia the meal was excellent! Crap selection of video to choose from again however but we both caught up on a bit of sleep. Immigration into Milan at Malpensa airport was a breeze as was the 30 minute train trip into Milano Centrale train station. We are staying tonight at Hotel Glam right across the Piazza from the station which is handy. Tomorrow afternoon we head off to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan via Moscow on Aeroflot, I'm looking forward to the experience just to see how they compare with the airlines that we know and love, or hate. The hotel is quite nice, it's just recently been refurbished and is all modern decor, buffet dinner and breakfast are included so might need to diet tomorrow after the big dinner tonight and planned big brekky tomorrow.

Brisbane to Abu Dhabi

First leg of the long journey done. That was the longest, a little over 13 hours. Can't say I'm a fan of Etihad as an airline. We didn't get our special diet meals, but then we did book a Virgin ticket through Zuji to advise Etihad of our needs. In the end though we were on an Etihad flight so they have to bear some responsibility for the systems they use through the third parties. And the on board video, whilst excellent quality video output, was surprisingly light on content that I would be happy to watch. Anyway, we are sitting here at gate 21 awaiting our next flight. I've just eaten an Aussie grown Fuji apple and enjoyed every bite.
